The Gift Of Spirit Around Us

Ever since I was a child, I knew that I had the gift of sensing Spirit around myself and others. It wasn’t until later in my life when I started taking classes in mediumship and psychic skills.

During my four years of mediumship studies in Boston with the First Spiritualist Temple, one of my teachers told me that I had the gift of transfiguration. This is when a medium goes into a light trance and sits in front of a red light and helps to generate energy that is used by Spirit Guides and loved ones to create their faces over the medium’s face.

Before I sat for transfiguration the first time, I knew that I had to relax and trust my Spirit Guides. As a response to my fears and lack of trust, one of my Spirit Guides dinged on my water glass three times in front of me when I was upstairs on the computer. I thought that was amazing. I also knew that this was an indicator to get myself ready energetically before my sitting.

And so I prepared with meditation.

As I sat in the winged back chair propped up with pillows, I could feel the energy starting to move around my head and upper chest like a wafting thick breeze. I felt a strong sensation of great pressure pushing on and around my head. Then I felt prickles on my face, while my eyes felt like they had sand in them.

For a moment, I felt like I was going to hyperventilate because my heart was beating so fast, as the energy was so strong. All I could think was, this is amazing, I am a little nervous, but I trust you my Guides to take care of me.

Just then, I was sitting at a pond with lotus flowers floating in it, then I pulled back to my sensations, I was too curious for my own good. My Spirit Guides were able to work around my curious mind, but when the energy became too intense, they would pull me away again to the serene place.

From time to time, I could see shadows and lights moving in front of my closed eyes, and then I felt someone touching my right temple, almost tickling me, indicating that the time was up.

As I came back to the room from my trance, I was pleased to hear that everyone saw the faces of Spirit Guide and loved ones over my face for the past two hours.

My husband told me it was the first time that he has seen me in a mustache. He said that he had to squint to tune in to the image that was flickering like a distant television signal. He said it was as if a holographic man took form, a faint transparency that overlaid my face. I wish that I could have seen it for myself!

All I could think about when the event was over, was when could I do this again?

Now, my husband and I work together when we host a transfiguration night. He channels messages and I sit to channel the faces. It is a wonderful gift from Spirit to see the faces of your loved ones and Spirit Guides.

They are always around us.
